This is my official pledge that I will NEVER make the stock market a big part of my financial life. Why?
Because it’s retarded. It’s as sensless and useless as any other form of mob action or crowd maddness. It’s no better than an African soccer stampede.
Consider the headlines that you see on the Wall Street Journal. Today they are claiming that the market rallied because oil prices went up. Hmmm… that’s strange, because until today, oil prices were a huge contributor to economic woes and equity market collapses.
The stock market is bullshit, plain and simple. It’s basically roulette with a decent average gain over a long period of time. But you’re no better than anyone else.
If I ever have a few million dollars to play with, I am going to put it into real estate, startups, or other assets that I can tangibly improve.
